The Sheriff has agreed to continue providing 3 deputies to work alongside 3 detention employees for the purpose of detainee transportation for the duration of this fiscal year. This will allow an extended period of time for detention staff to receive on the job training for the services it will take over. This offer has been extended to cover the period of May 11, 2026 until fiscal year end, June 30, 2026. Effective July 1, 2026, the OCDC will assume full responsibility for the transportation of detainees to and from the courthouse. Requested by Sheriff Tommie Johnson III, Criminal Justice Authority Trustee.
