Discussion and possible action regarding the authorization for Sheriff Tommie Johnson III to acquire a contract for outside legal counsel related to litigation concerning the Oklahoma County trust indenture, memorandum of understanding for transportation services, and any other orders, directives, or opinions that require the Sheriff to perform duties that are perceived to be outside of state statutory requirements. Upon selection of a firm that is suitable for this matter, the Sheriff’s Office will present a contract to be considered for approval by the BOCC. The reason for this request is because the Oklahoma County District Attorney will have to recuse based on the conflict of interest due to the parties involved.
